Dead Horse Point Elopement in Moab, Utah |Brandy and Irene

Brandy and Irene traveled to Utah for the first time to elope, choosing the incredible Dead Horse Point State Park in Moab. They wanted something simple, surrounded by nature, and Dead Horse Point delivered on every level. Just as their ceremony started, the sun rose over the canyon, lighting up the red rock cliffs around us. It was cold at first, but as the light spread, it warmed us all up—setting the perfect tone for their day.

One of the best parts of photographing their elopement was how connected and comfortable they were with each other. Brandy and Irene’s style was simple and down-to-earth, blending beautifully with the landscape without feeling staged. Every smile, every glance felt genuine, and as a photographer, it’s always a win when a couple is so clearly enjoying every second. I also got to sign their marriage certificate as a witness, which is one of my favorite little roles to play on a wedding day. It's a nice reminder of the unique bond we create through these celebrations.

Choosing a sunrise ceremony meant we had the park almost entirely to ourselves—a huge bonus at a place as popular as Dead Horse Point. It allowed Brandy and Irene to stay present, focus on each other, and keep things low-key. The photos really capture that quiet, peaceful vibe that only an early morning can bring in a place as striking as Moab.
